27 March Lunging with Angela Macleod BHS AI Int. T
1 May Training the young horse with Alanna Andrew BHS AI to include long lining, backing and riding on.
29 May Loading and travelling horses with Ramzi Hijawii Horse Transport. Ramzi will cover how to load and unload, what to take with you, what the horse should wear and how to use transport safely.
26 June Tack and Turnout for Competition with Dawn BHS II- groomed at the Olympics and the Sunshine Tour.
31 July Farriery with Nigel Fennel. Nigel will discuss traditional farriery, the structure of the horse’s foot and remedial farriery work. He is a dedicated farriery competitor whose main highlights include National Industrial Blacksmithing Champion,Two European Show Champion titles (Verona Italy), A British National Champion Medallist & inclusion to the England horse shoeing team including three European team Championship titles and one Home International Title culminating to a World championship Top Ten finalist in Calgary Canada
3 September Bits and Bridles with specialist manufacturer in conjunction with Dene’s Country Stores
25 September Equine Dentistry and Vaccinations with vets from the Liphook Equine Hospital. This will include a demonstration of teeth rasping and information on the structure of the horse’s mouth. There will be a brief talk on vaccinations and the oppportunity to have your horse vaccinated or micro-chipped at the end of the workshop (not included in price)
23 October Feeding with Spillers. Calculate what to feed horses according to size, type, work etc. The talk will also cover in depth information on vitamins, minerals and supplements for remedial feeding. There will be an opportunity to weigh your horse.
27 November Saddlery with Adrian from Buttons. Adrian is a Master Saddler by appointment to the Queen with over 30 years experience. He will focus on fitting saddles and bridles and discuss their construction.
11 December Clipping with Penny. Penny provides clipping services locally and prepares horses for competition at PSG level. She will talk about why to clip and when, how to keep horses calm as well as clipper maintenance. The workshop will include drawing on chalk lines for the different clips and a demonstration of clipping.
